# Hashtags

March 10, 2013

Okay so I’ve been speaking to a friend this evening about the use of Hashtags within social network sites. A bit of harmless fun or grammatically incorrect?

The use if Hashtags originated on Twitter as a way of adding additional quotes or conversation stoppers. #forexample

Lately this has spread to all social network sites, the television show Gordie Shore and the latest being Facebook. Majority of people use them as a bit of harmless fun, including myself. My friends and I use them as inside jokes and purely for the comedy side of things.

Although a lot of people have a lot of hate for this new online craze, I don’t see the harm myself but know people who would literally tear their hair out about it and loose their minds. It does amuse me how people can have such a negative outlook on such minor things as this.

Thanks for reading.
